I installed my audiophile 192 card in my newer computer. It was mostly for my piano keyboard and studio monitors.
I still wanted to use the onboard soundcard to work at the same time (so I could shut off the monitors and use smaller PC speakers for games or something) but couldn't make that happen. I had to completely switch all audio to the new card. The only problem with that is that it has it's own volume control window.
When I push my keyboard's mute button, it only mutes the standard windows volume control window (for the onboard card), which does nothing.
The only way I can control the volume now is opening the new volume control window and manually moving the sliders. Is there any way I can get the keyboard mute button (and subsequently the keyboard volume dial) to work? I checked the Logitech keyboard software but to no avail.
I guess the alternative I have is to take a small old mixer I have and run everything through just for volume control, but that's a pain.
