I've got a 120mm rear exhaust fan that needs to go, i think the motor is about to eat it. I've already gone and bought a replacement and have tried to install it. Problem is, my case doesn't have a lot of room for manuvering, and to install this fan using the supplied rubber pegs i would have to probably remove the PSU, CPU HSF and possibly my video card. It's a lot of trouble and my history with my PC internals says im going to come out with more broken parts than i went in with.
I could probably easily install the two outer rubber pegs into the case chassis, but the two inner ones are the hard to reach ones. I was thinking maybe i could just secure the other ones with strong double sided tape, or duct tape folded over. Would this method adequately hold the fan? I'm not using screws because id like to also keep the fan as quiet as possible, and ive heard screws can cause unwanted vibration.
Any input is appreciated.
