Using System Restore in XP Pro

It says here that xp automatically creates restore points everyday. I'm looking to roll back about 1 day but I don't see where I can do that. When I go into backup---->restore wizard, there are no entries found to restore to.
 
Start/Control Pane;/System/System Restore
Make sure you have it turned on. I don't care for it myself. Never solved anything.
It is better to use Start/Run/regedit to save a GOOD registry in My Documents to go back to as opposerd to System Restore.
