My onboard soundcard is Realtek ALC887. It has an SPDIF Out port.
  • How does it derive its clock? Does it continuously output clock signals when there is no audio signal?
  • If I connected SPDIF Out of Realtek ALC887 to SPDIF In of Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD USB soundcard and set the clock source of X-Fi HD to SPDIF, does X-Fi HD derive its clock for headphone jack from SPDIF In, too?
  • Can SPDIF In just use the internal clock of X-Fi HD and have no problem if I'm going to resample audio signal from SPDIF In to another soundcard?
