I currently use one 40GB HDD (IDE1) on my Soyo board. I just picked up an identical HDD so I can take advantage of the built-in FastTrak RAID. BTW, I have existing data (Win2K OS) on my current drive and want to add the blank HDD and enable the on-board FastTrak for RAID 0, for striping performance.

I don't understand which step I should follow in the owner's manual to get this to work. I definitely don't screw up the HDD with the pre-existing OS and data. I?ll make a ghost image, to be safe, but I rather do it right from the start. Can anyone help me out?

the manual seems to explain it all pretty good but says thats the least desirable way to do it. if your going to back everything up why not just reformat in raid from the start ?
good luck

I guess this means I can make a backup, reformat my 2 HDD, enable RAID, and then restore my image. I try it. Thanks.
