Using Run-As in Windows XP..

I have a user that needs admin access to run a poorly designed program. However, that user keeps installing a bunch of crap on her computer she does not need, nor should have. So I have made her account just a normal user account, and of course, the program she needs does not work.

I did do Run-As and type in the admin account info and it works. The problem is, that dialogue box does not allow you to save the admin password. It must be typed in each time, so I could give her the admin password, but that would defeat the purpose of giving her a limited account since she could simply login as admin then. Is there another way I can use the Run-As command and have it save the password? I thought of using a batch file, but I don't think it lets you put a password in (this is assuming the user is not smart enough to open/read a batch file and find the pw).

Runasspc (http://robotronic.de/runasspcEn.html) should do the trick. If your user can still get admin access even when you're using a 256bit AES encrypted password you either have one hell of a user or one weakass password 😉
