Using rare earth magnets on a case

I know they sell magnetic fan filters for cases. But what about something stronger. I was thinking of holding something to my case with a few 1mm x 2mm round rare earth magnets. My case is aluminum, so my plan was to glue some on one side of the case and use some to hold something to it on the other side. Would a magnet this small cause any problems to HD's? I think it should be fine, but I just wanted to check and see if anyone had done it before.

Looks like the Corsair Graphite 760T uses magnets to hold the top cover of the case on and has some to make sure the side panel is closed. But, I cannot tell what kind other than they are small. If they are rare earth then I should be fine.

I very highly doubt them to be rare earth magnets on something so mass produced.

Sounds a wee tad excessive. 20 years of PC use, never a magnet and been fine. Although rare earth magnets have been mass produced for high end car audio subs in the past so why not?

You can get like 20 1mm x 2mm disks on ebay for $1. So, they are not that expensive.

Scroll down and they have a picture of the magnets they use. They look like rare earth, ie. not black.

Not doubting they arent expensive. Doubting the producer for doing something logical for their consumers
