using Quadro drivers modded to work with regular card

Do they always provide an IQ advantage? How big is the difference in IQ? What's the latest one on the internet that's been modded to work with GTX460s?

There is no 'IQ advantage' for using Quadro drivers on a non a retail card, anyone who says otherwise is subject to the placebo effect.

Okay thanks. I believe a mod at XtremeSystems forums posted a Quadro driver w/ modded inf and said it would give better IQ than regular drivers.

But I'll take Schadenfroh's and Sylvana's word for it.

All it does is enable hardware acceleration of professional 3D applications like 3ds Max.

unless you really need the Quadro's ability to accelerate the rendering process in a professional 3D application, you should not soft-mod your GeForce graphics card into a Quadro.
