Using proxy, can it log your passwords?

can the proxy catch your passwords and stuff you type even though sites you visit / log-on are encrypted?
 
Yes and No. If at anytime you send unencrypted data to it, it can read it. I bet you make an SSL connection to it and it makes one to the server, in that case it can read it.
