So I was thinking of getting a cheap prepaid wireless phone. Sign up for prepaid wireless and then use the SIM on my LG Shine. Would this work? Would all the options like buying minutes work? thanks

I'm 99.99999% sure that prepaid phones don't have sim cards. They're on the CDMA network like verizon and sprint, neither of which use sim cards either. So no that's not an option.

T-mobile does prepaid, that is what I use, yes there is a sim card, and yes you can use it on an unlocked phone. Usually the phone is locked to a certain provider. But a sim card works with any phone that will accept it.
