Using other companys drivers for my Motorla PCI wireless card?

I've been having some issues with my Motorla PCI wireless card (yes I spose this is what I get for buying a 10$ adapter). My friend said I should try using another company's drivers, since Motorola's suck. How do I go about doing this, and does anyone have recommendations for good ones?
