Using old ram in my new mobo

I was just curious if it would work, i think it does, but i dont wanna do it and bust my mobo.

ok, so if it works,
1. Will it damage the mobo in any way?
2. Will speed of comp be as if its a ddr 266 system, but everything else running regularly, or will it slow everything down in the system. Basicly asking if comp will just be slowed on memory intensive programs, or all around, like web browsing, listening to mp3's and such?

really depends, is it an amd or p4 system? you should be able to go into the bios and select 266 for the memory speed. usually a p4 system will have more of an impact due to their need for high bandwidth ram -> cpu, amd is not as bad but you will probably notice a difference on either setup.

Actualy, i was just curious. I wanted to test some ram from my last system. And the performance part, i was just curious.
