Using OE6 with more than one email?

I'm using OE6 as my email client.

I own a domain and I have webhosting; I have created multiple email accounts, all w/diff passwords.

I can only get OE6 to check/DL one email at a time.

IOW, if I go into Tools/Accounts/Email and put in any more than one email account, OE will check the PRIMARY account, but give me a "Password Rejected" error message for all the others.

There's nothing wrong w/the password; it is correct.

Anyone help me out, please?

Is this only an issue with OE6? Have you tested this with other mail clients? I'm not exactly sure but could it be a problem with your server not accepting so many connections from a single computer at the same time?

Honestly, I never thought of that at all. I have a commercial host...a big one, too. Fast connection, etc. I've never heard of that problem.

I'm really curious now...how can I test this out?

*edit*

I think I already have tested it out. When I created another Identitiy in OE6, and went to check my email, it was only checking the email for ONE client at a time.

In OE6 when you switch Identities, OE closes, and reopens with the alternate identity as it's "only" email addy. :(

I used to have OE6 checking 4 email accounts under a single identity. All you need to do is check the box for "include the account when receiving mail or synchronizing".

Here's a pic :camera:

Thanks John and Budman,

I have the same settings you do. I'm going to email my hosting provider; as far as I can see, I'm setting up the new email addys correctly, yet my passwords for them aren't authenticating.

I'll report back what the fix is. :)

Are your secondary accounts all retrieving from the same mail server? Some POP servers reject multiple logins in quick succession. I know that the POP server at my university was configured this way. If I attempted to check my email too frequently (hitting send/receive multiple times in Outlook), the server would return an error message similar to the one you're receiving.

Just something to ask your hosting provider about.

*FIXED*

The problem was that I wasn't using the FULL email addy as the account name. I didn't notice it; my fault. It all works fine now!

Thank you to all who gave advice!!!
