Using Nvidia Quadro k2000 2gb for Gaming?

I have a used PNY Quadro k2000 2gb from a family member they got from work when they swapped to Macs.
I was already looking to build a gaming pc but have a budget of $500. This would be my first step into PC gaming.
With GPUs requiring the majority of my budget I was looking around for ways to reduce my costs. This GPU would be mine for free, and after doing some research I found it was mostly geared towards 3D rendering and Video editing workstations rather than used for gaming.

My question is, should I use this GPU for a pc build and allocate my funds towards a better processor thus building a stronger machine? Or is this GPU just not built for the kind of work current Games are recommending?
For reference I'm looking to use Battlefront, and Fallout 4 as benchmarks.

In the future, I'm planning on running a Raid 1 out of this system. If this plays in as a factor.

Here is a link to the GPU on Newegg.

And a preview of the build I'm contemplating.

Intel i5 6600k
Gigabyte GA-Z170-hd3
Crucial 16gb DDR4-2133
Sandisk 120gb SSD
PNY Nvidia Quadro K2000 2gb
Thermaltake Versa H22 ATX Tower
EVGA 500w 80+ Power Supply

While you can use the K2000 for gaming, it would be in your best interest to sell the card and use those funds for a gaming card. The Quadro cards use Nvidia's Quadro drivers, and the GeForce drivers tend to run games better. Plus, the Quadro cards usually have fairly low memory bandwidth.

Quick check on eBay shows them going for ~$150, so you can use that towards a faster gaming card.

PCIE 2.0
DirectX 11
384 Cuda Cores
128 bit Memory
2GB GDDR5

Those specs aren't going to play any modern games very well at all. I'd take Firebird's advice and sell it and buy a proper gaming card.

384 core Kepler, that's like a GT740 but only 64GB/s vram bandwidth and 51W ... it has to be extremely anemic for fps gaming. At least trade up to GTX 750Ti or GTX 950.

I guess this thread is dead, because OP is looking at 960 in the other thread here.

They sell new and used on Amazon for $360 and range $150-600 on eBay. Most on eBay are closer to $250, so you should try to sell it for $250-300. The audience buying Quadro cards typically has a lot more money to spend. You can buy a lot of gaming GPU for that.
