Im looking for a way to use the user level set of NT/2K (IE guest, user, power user ,super user, backup user, admin, etc) in XP. Annoyed by the user-friendlyness of XP (haveing only something between guest and user, and admin, I have become thouroghly infuriated with microsoft's latest 'attempt' (if you can call it that) at a security mask and user acces levels. Another problem s that you can't disable accounts, just delete them.

While microsoft is widely known for bad operating systems, this is just unacceptable. Unfortunately, due to the more than %95 percent of PC users who use windows, I am stuck with XP as the only gaming OS.

Those security groups do exist in XP Professional. Are you using XP Home?

This may seem stupid but due to the "user friendliness" of Windows XP Pro you can't set those specific user classes with the Control Panel. You can do this from compmgmt.msc.

Eh? That's quite a statement, considering the Guest account is disabled by default. Try double clicking on the account you want to disable. You'll see the box there.

Ah, yeah, PorBleemo got it. You cant do any real user administration from the control panel GUI. You need to use computer management.

I can't double click on the account, it just shows the user actions (cange their pic, acct. type, etc), no disable. The user account is the only one I've succesfully disabled.
