Using MRK-102FD with Maxtor D740X; help needed

This is probably going to get no replies since this combo is probably rare, but I just bought the Vantec MRK-102FD removable hard drive bay and am having trouble understanding the instructions on how to interface it with my 40gb Maxtor D740X. If someone has done it before or can give me a better example than what was written in the instruction guide, I'd be very grateful.

On most of these, you just pull the tray out from the frame unit, pop it open, you will see two connectors inside, std drive power and 40-pin IDE connector. Set any jumpers on your drive per your system's needs. Just plug the conn's in as normal being sure pin-1 of IDE plug goes to pin-1 of the drive (end toward the power jack), then mount the drive inside the tray with the shortest screws provided that will work (usually not enough room inside to plug cables in after drive is mounted to tray. Mount the frame into your CPU case, connect the cables similarly to above. Tray fan(s) power conn. usually goes in-line with drive power, but I choose to use a separate conn. from PSU for all my fans. That's it...

Oh, that one may have a temp sensor lead in the tray also - the end of it should be taped or glued to the top center of the drive per instructions.

Edit: Also, see this site: MRK-102FD Review The three other wires are to hook to the Master/Slave/Cable Select jumpers on your drive so you can change them from the front panel. I agree with the opinion of the reviewer: I would suggest you used a fixed jumper instead, unless you really think you will need that 'feature'.bh.
