Using Microsoft Surface 3 as extended display with a Linux laptop?

I use ElementaryOS (based on Ubuntu) for programming work on my laptop. I just got a Surface 3 running Windows 10 and I was wondering if there was any way to use my Surface 3 as a second monitor / extended display with my EOS-running laptop? I could also install EOS on the Surface if that helps.
