Hey Guys, i have 1 GB Dual channel OCZ DDR with the Timings of 2-3-2-6 and i want to upgrade with another 1 GB Dual Channel, but i am wondering if using 2 different timing or Cas Latency would make a difference, but same bus speed ?

Thanks in advance

Different timings are fine as long as both run at the timings you set in the bios. I would not use SPD, instead set the timings to that of the higher latency module and run Memtest86+ for a few passes. If you pass then you could try lowering the timings to that of the fastest module and run Memtest86+ again.

IMO, I always thought that running matched sets caused less problems. One could run faster PC2700 with PC2100 RAM as an example, and the system would compensate with the PC2100 overall. Being from the old school, I still prefer matched RAM on my systems and with today prices, one can always get another matching stick very easily.
