Using media player on XP rig from Win7 rig?

I've got an older XP Pro system in my living room w/o a monitor. I'd like to set it up so that I can control the media player(WMP or Winamp) on the XP rig from the Win7 Pro 64 rig in my bedroom. Whats the terminology for what I'm looking to do? Is it a virtual desktop or something else? Both computers are on the same router.
