Using Laptop LCD panels as a primary monitor

I've come across some old broken laptops....bad HD's, etc etc, so i was trying to find articles on using the panel controller and wire it up to be a primary monitor for a desktop machine...its for a mod project, and i know i've seen it done before, i just couldnt find any links.

Anyone have them bookmarked 🙂

I'd bet that each laptop lcd has a different wire pinout. You will probably want to dig around for specs and scematics for the specific model laptop the lcd came from. Then compare to a standard VGA plug and decide which wires go where. Power might be an issue as well, maybe use a laptop 12v power adapter to power the lcd? Or maybe it can run off of the psu in your rig.
