I have the Vonage Linksys PAP-2 adapter which plugs into a router ethernet port to acquire an IP address (using DHCP in my case) and connect up to the Vonage servers to make calls.
Since I typically connect up to the net using WI-FI when travelling, I have the ethernet port free on my laptop.
Can someone explain to me how I can connect my Vonage adapter to this ethernet port and acquire an IP address via the WI-FI connection (basically using the laptop as a router)? This would enable me to carry the small adapter on my travels and make calls. I could use Vonage's software based phone but that entails a monthly fee which I am trying to avoid.
I tried the built-in ICS on windows XP to set it up but couldn't get it to work.
Thanks in advance.
