Using iPOD w/ aux jack in car stereo

Is it possible to use the line out on the iPOD directly into the auxiliary jack on my car stereo? What would the sound quality be like? Would it sound as good as the mp3's quality (ie. isn't distorted at all)? Anybody doing this...how's it working for ya? Thanks.

I use my iPod frequently in the aux-in of my Home Theater System. Though the sound is not as punchy as playing a CD (even MP3 CD), there's no distortion that I can detect. Also, I use the iPod in my car with the cassette adapter and IMO that's the best place for my iPod to be

Thanks for the info. I have a decent system in my car, 2xJL10w6's and 2x300 watts pumped into them. I just wish I knew before I bought the thing if I was going to be able to notice a sound quality difference? I mean i'm not an audiophile by any means but I like clear highs and some bass, as long as its not distorted.
