Using In wall cable tubing / piping / smurt etc....

What is the best tubing / flexible piping to use for running cables from an in wall mount box to a side wall of a gas fireplace?

I'm using a Cheif PAC501B which has openings of 1.38 inches and 2.38 inches. I'm thinking about using 2.5 inch flexible PVC pipe or 2" smurf (caralon) flexible tubing. I would prefer to use to bigger hole in case I need to make any wiring changes in the future.

Any advice?

I'd go with the 2 inch. I've personally just run wire through the wall without benefit of a pipe, but in my case it was simply to go from one side of a wall to the other. I also don't think that's quite up to code. 😉

First, check with local fire code and find out what your code is.

Secondly, unlike with women bigger is better. I'd do 2.5 inch personally, simply for the fact that I wouldn't have to worry about not having enough room to fit cables in the tube.

Also, make sure to run some wire to help with pulling the wire.
