not sure if this is the right place for this, so basically, I am using IE11, don't think there is a newer version than that, and some websites still give me 'It looks like you're using an older version of Internet Explorer' message and want me to upgrade to IE11, or Chrome or Firefox. So what do I need to do to 'fix' it? maybe some registry edit?

It sounds like JavaScript is disabled, or you have a user-agent switcher installed. Or the web page is coded improperly.

I fixed this by unchecked all the boxes in compatibility view settings.

1. IE> Tools> Compatibility View Settings, uncheck all boxes and remove any sites from the list.
