Using Hotmail with Outlook 2002

Hello,

I just switched from Outlook Express to Outlook 2002.

In my hotmail accounts on Outlook Express, I was able to flag messages and when I replied to or forward a message the icon representing the message would change to indicate (with a little arrow) that the message had been replied to or forwarded.

Outlook doesn't seem to support this feature for webmail.

How could a feature available in "Oulook Lite" not be available in Outlook 2002?

My primary email account is Hotmail, and though I love the functionality of Outlook, it's a real drag not being able to flag messages and see which I've replied to.

Is there any way around this?

Thanks

I use outlook at work (at home now), but not sure about this. If you don't get an answer I will check it out tomorrow.

I don't think this is available for the default Hotmail connector in Outlook. After scanning some newsgroup posts on the topic, it looks like you need the Outlook Connector that's supplied with an MSN Premium subscription in order to see the replied to flag.

Well that is very disappointing if true. I'm not about ready to start paying for Hotmail.

Again, I'm surprised this functionality would be available in Outlook Express but not in Outlook.

I'm hoping someone has found a way around this.

Thanks for your responses.

I love Outlook, but their Hotmail support is lacking in a number of ways and has always felt like an afterthought to me. I use it to check my Hotmail account occasionally, but since I don't use Hotmail as my primary account, Outlook's limitations don't affect me much.

Well, you have to remember that Outlook wasn't really designed for Hotmail access (POP and mainly Exchange). That's why it feels like it's been tacked on, because it probably was. According to MS, Outlook only supports 1 Hotmail account, but I've gotten it working with 4 before (although it does sometimes cause probs). Supposedly the next version of Outlook will have better Hotmail integration, but I'll wait and see.
