Using glue/adhesive when assembling home furniture

I always try to use wood glue on the wooden dowels and any joints with exposed wood but was wondering if using some construction adhesive on the screws would help with structural rigidity. The construction adhesive says it will bond to masonry, wood, metal, tiles, etc.

The screws/dowels just hold the parts together until the glue dries and does the real holding.
