Using front case USB and Firewire ports...

I have a IC7 and a Chieftec case with 2 USB ports and one firewire in front. Its on XP pro if it helps. I connected the case cords to the Mobo where you would normally put the additional backplate ports. The only problem is that they are not working. Coming out of the case there is a blue cord(USB???) and a black one. Which is the USB cord and which is the firewire? Also there are 2 connectors for each on the MB do they have to be in the number 1 connector?

I just noticed that under device manager there is a USB controller with an exclamation point and says there are no drivers available. Does this have anything to do with it?

Thanks

I have a chieftec case, but it's at work right now. Give me a holler tomorrow and I can help you out with which goes where.

I imagine the USB headers are for USB 2.0 ports? In order for these to work you need to have Windows XP Service Pack 1 installed. The drivers supplied by Microsoft with SP1 or your vender (they should be on a CD from the motherboard manufacturer or their website) should work great. Also, you need to be sure the USB and IEEE1394 wires are correctly connected to the headers on the board. And lastly, some cases have front panel USB ports that are not USB 2.0 compliant (like my case) and just may not work with USB 2.0.
