Using floor standing speakers with a desk?

I had a thread long ago on here about whether I could use floor standing speakers with my current desk (or change my 2.1 setup from bookshelf to 4.1 w/ floor standing in front).

The result of that thread was, no there is no real way I could have added floor standing speakers with the amount of room I have.

Next:
I have been contemplating a new desk, something basic from IKEA, flat top no hutch. Mostly so that I can actually fit my dual monitors on the table, or actually have my Bookshelf speakers at the same levels.

So new idea, I already have floor standing speakers that aren't being used (brand new). Can these be paired up with a basic desk and still positioned properly? The desk is against the wall.

Thanks~!

room setup?

I have a standard ikea table, the speakers are sitting at the corners, the table is about 3" from the wall.

The floor standing speakers can be next to the table, angled in. Assuming the tweeter is not the same height as the tabletop. Elevate speaker if that is not the case.

I have about 7ft of wall that the desk would back on. Desk would probably be ~5ft

Can't go any further than 7ft of wall since I have a closet door and then my entrance door there

Can you reconfigure the room? Perhaps rotate the bed 90" clockwise? That gives you a little more depth perhaps.

That room is too tight for towers. Even if you fit them in, they won't sound good. Go with bookshelves.
