If you have a desktop computer on which the memory specs. allow for use of 2 different speeds of RAM, (says 1600mz and 18??mz) is it wiser to stick with the originally installed 1600mz as opposed to moving up to the 18??mz ?

Thanks.

Are you looking to upgrade the memory by supplementing existing RAM that has been installed, or will you be replacing?

If you're supplementing what is installed, I'd try and stick close to the currently installed specs. If you're replacing, buy whatever is cheaper - you probably won't see much of a real world difference between the two speeds. I also wouldn't spend too much on a system running DDR3, given the age.
