I have a dual channel set of DDR3 1600 ram (2 sticks x 2 Gb) in my X55 board. If I upgrade to a X58 board, is there really any problem buying another set of the same model number dual channel RAM and simply using 3 out of the 4 sticks in the 3 channel board? I didn't think so but figured I'd ask. I hope that's clear - 2 dual channel sets for a total of 4 sticks at 2 gb each, all the same model number and simply using 3 out of the 4 sticks in an X58 board.

Cheers!

OK, search wasn't coming up with anything but going back thru the forum seems to indicate yes.

I've somewhat redeemed myself...
