I have been trying to figure out how to setup a VPN using the DI-614+ we have in our apartment.

Is it possible to use the router to setup a VPN or do I need to just set it up with the server? it would be nice to set it up with the router.

I have revision B with the latest firmware from DLink

Check the little book that came with the router, the manual. Download it if you need to. Typically a router will support VPN passthrough but not have VPN server functionality. Passthrough just means your can have a VPN client behind the router tunnneling into a server on the internet somewhere. Some SOHO routers do have an integrated VPN server. Again, something that will be discussed in detail in your manual if it does. Hell, it'll be on the specs page on the website or your good old friend google will also probably tell you pretty quickly.

Yeah, I know it has passthrough but I guess I was thinking it had VPN server functionality built in. No biggy, I will just set up a VPN via Server 2003. Right now the server is just behind the DMZ and not really my favorite setup.
