i have a 17" crt hooked up to the vga out on my 9500p. i was thinking of getting another crt, maybe another 17 or 19 in. if i go with a 19", would the display be misalign because of the different monitor sizes? will all games support dual displays or does the game have to be programed to support it?

Running dual displays with different size monitors is not a problem at all. I have a GF4 with CRT+DVI out and I have a 19" CRT as the main monitor and a 17" CRT as my secondary monitor. W2K and XP both have good support for dual monitors and will allow you to set a different resolution for each display.

Most (if not all) games do not support dual monitors, and its best to disable the secondary display when gaming.

I highly recommend a program called UltraMon. Its a program for running dual displays and has more features than the basic W2K/XP built-in support.

The Display Properties allows the monitors to be "dragged" so that the virtual alignment matches the way they are really set on your desk. Windows 2000 has problems with proper dual monitor support with some older ATI cards, IME, but otherwise 2000 and XP will both work very well for what you're wanting to do.
