Hello,

Sorry if this is the incorrect forum, but it seemed like the right one!

Any thoughts on a conductive pen alternative that may be lying around the house?

Trying to be cheap. I will only use the pen once and I don't feel like spending 20 bucks on it (pen and S/H).

You know.

Thanks.

If you have a Fry's nearby, it's only 12.99

But I've heard a rear windshield defogging/defrosting repair kit is also conductive.

depends, but maybee a thin piece of wire and scotch tape? I think I saw an article where they were using this to try and figure out which contacts to short. Like a strand from frazzled stereo antenna wire, or from phone or an old IDE cable. You can mash it flat with a hammer if you need more contact surface/clearance, and mask it off with more scotch tape. I don't know how well the tape will work over time and with heat. Black electrical tape leaves goo.

Going to try the hard mod on my X800 pro.

Biazarre isn't it? I am too cheap to get a real conductive pen, but its ok to gamble with a $400 card. Damn I am weird.

So you think the lead pencil trick would work with it?

Automotive windshield defroster patch kit. It's like a conductive pen but it's brush on.
