I want to build a computer to hook up to my rear projection television by S-Video and to my receiver/speaker setup to do the following things:

Record TV like a PVR, and do it with good quality!
Burn these onto a DVD for archiving.
Play Video games
Playback DVDs

I also plan on buying an HDTV in the next few months, and I would like a card that can output to a monitor via DVI to RGV or by component hookup. A remote control is essential. Anybody have any experience in setting up a system like this? I am considering the Visiontek Nvidia Personal Cinema card versus the Nvidia AIW Radeon 8500. Gaming is semi important, good functionality of the rest is very important. Are there other products which may be separate from the video card that will work bettter?

I just started looking at PVR. I came across SnapStream PVR software in a local television news story here in Houston. Turns out that they are located in Houston. I went to their site, snapstream.com. Quite a lot of functionality, including downloading recorded tv shows to a Compaq IPAQ!. Check them out. I think I will download, or go by and pick up a free trial version and then decide on a video board. They also sell a board, WIN GO TV(?) as a bundle with software. They have forums where users talk about everything. GOOD LUCK.:)
