Hey guys and gals... hopefully someone can help me out here... I am sure there is a way to do it SOMEHOW...

I have a motorola v60 series cellular phone and a toshiba portege cte7220 laptop. i have found the cable that you connect the phone to the computers usb port to enable you to download PIM info to the phone, but I don't think that this will enable me to use my cell phone to connect my laptop to the internet while i am on the road.

I was hoping that somehow I could use my cell phone to dial into my ISP's roaming numbers and "somehow" use that connection to access the web. And don't laugh at my stupidity or naiveity, but I guess somehow, this would all have to connect to my internal modem , huh?

Obviousley, I can't just plug my cell phone into the phone jack on the laptop... that would be too simple! Are there PCMCIA cards that allow a cell phone to connect to them?? Or may some type of USB modem that a cell phone connects to???

Any info would be greatly appreciated? Or maybe you know of a link or two where I can educate myself about this? Thanks for any info and excuse my ignorance... later

Who is your provider? As for not being able to simply "plug in and connect" NONSENSE! I have Spint and am online via Cellphone hooked to a USB cable, no software installed, just a usb driver and VOLIA. You might be surprised, it could very well be easier then you think. If I can get online with no effort and I have Sprint, you probably will have an easy option :)
