Using camera as main video camera - Sony HX30v

I've been debating on using a camera as dual use camera / main video camera. I'm getting tired of using 2 devices, especially on family vacations where I'm constantly pulling out a different camera for stills, or video. I still want something that fits in my pocket, not looking for a SLR.
Are there any downsides to this?

Looking around at some of the newer cameras one has caught my eye, getting great reviews on stills and video.
Sony-Cyber-shot-DSC-HX30V
18.2 MP
Full 1080/60p. Most other cameras I'm seeing only do 30fps, or 24. Going to 60fps make a big difference?
20x zoom.

Thoughts?
