Using CallServe Behind a NAT

Shadow Conception

CallServe is a Skype-like service, basically a VoIP. When we use it to call, it just doesn't work; it just says "rejected". We've tried everything, forwarding ports, taking to other places to try it out, etc. And it still won't work.

Our suspicion is that our NAT is the problem, as suggested by the thread title. Supposedly Skype has ways to get around the NAT, which is why it works when we use it. But CallServe doesn't. Any solutions to this problem?

I had a similar voip problem. When i got my work SIP phone i could call out but when i would get a call it would ring but there would be no voice. My old D-link router had a setting under the firewall marked SIP, unchecked that and it worked. I would see if you have something similar.

What kind of router/firewall are you using?

If it's a Sonicwall, that's your issue. Had all kinds of terrible issues with them using VoIP. I tried absolutely everything, and it just would not work. I'd suspect that there are plenty of brands that don't work just like this one.

Switched to a Cisco router and it worked just fine, even through a NAT. So...that'd be my guess.
