Using Backup from XP to switch back to win2k...

Ok, after using XP for a while, I have decided to go back to Win2k pro. My Question is this....

I Have two hard drives, and I did a full backup of all my data to the second drive using the Windows XP backup utility.
If I format my XP drive, and install win2k pro, will I be able to use the win2k backup program to re-catalog the backup file, and restore all my data? My data is very important, and I just wanna make sure there is no backwards compatibily issue with the two backup programs or anything like that. Or should i just unpack the backup, and places all the files directly onto the second drive (asumming it all fits, which I dont think it will)?

Thanks
