**Using ASUS Drive Xpert (P5Q Deluxe)

Likely I will be buying ASUS P5Q MB, probably Deluxe and I want to use the RAID 1 (Mirroring feature) of the Drive Xpert hardware built into this MB. I know the HDDs (mine are WD 640 GB) have to be set up as "data disks". Does this mean I need to have a 3rd drive as the boot drive?

I'd really prefer just to have the 2 drives and I guess after the first one is formatted and the OS installed, I'd like to have everything, OS and all the data I would subsequently add to the drive (pix, docs, etc) all mirrored to the second drive--such that if the first one failed, I could just boot off the other one and still also have all my data.

One poster I read (maybe on newegg) said something about formatting the first drive on one of the regular SATA ports and then plugging it into one of the orange Xpert SATA ports and then putting the second drive into the second orange Xpert SATA port and all would automatically be mirrored.

SO, I need help, please, from someone who has actually used these ASUS "Drive Xpert" ports and knows and can explain the sequence and correct way to achieve what I looking for.

Many thanks in advance.

I assume you mean I should have posted this question in the specific thread for P5Q motherboards...and so I did just that now. Thank you.
