What do you think about using a gaming laptop in a desktop configuration?

for example use a thunderbolt 4 docking station to connect everything on it.

With a thunderbolt 4 dock can we have 1080p 144hz resolution with the external gaming monitor?
 
Yes you can. I have a Dell XPS 15 with the Dell thunderbolt dock and 3-24 inch 1080p 144 Hz monitors connected to it. Just make sure the dock supports the resolution and frame rate.
