Tried search but it turned up zip....

I'm about to pull the trigger on an X2-5600 and was wondering if I should order a cooler with it or if the stock cooler is decent enough. Anyone out there using a stock HS with their 5600, and if so what temps are you getting and is it loud?

I'm waiting and debating the Intel price drop but I like the upgrade path for the AM2. IIRC, users can upgrade to a quad later on without swapping boards.

The stock cooler is the typical "cheapie" aluminum block HSF. If you want a more robust cooling solution that is quieter and won't break the bank pick up an AC Freezer 64 Pro for $20 @ ewiz.com

I was thinking of picking up the AC Freezer 64 as well. Temps on my x2 6000 with stock cooler are about 47 idle, 57 load :(

Never been to ewiz. Is this the correct URL? http://www.ewiz.com/

I tried but can't connect right now.

Many thanks!

Yeah, the site was down. It's up now for $20.83 shipped. Here's a link: http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=FAN-AC6PRO&c=pw

Regarding the stock cooler, it's actually not so bad. It's much better than the older ones AMD used to ship out, since has nice copper heatpipes and all. The only problem is I have to run it at full blast (~3300rpm) to keep my idle temps in the lower 40's. I use Speedfan to bring it down to around 3100rpm and at that speed, the fan doesn't seem to make that whiny sound anymore.
