Ok, I'm a little bit confused on this one. Here is the situation

I have an older power supply Enermax Noisetaker EG475P-VE 1.3 that I want to use for my new system that I'm putting together. The motherboard I am using for my build is a MSI P6N Platium. Now this motherboard has an ATX 24pin Power Connector ATX1 and also and ATX 12v 8pin Power Connector: JPW1 Shown Here.
My power supply has these connections, a 20pin and a 4pin. The uses guide for the motherboard states that is OK to use a 20pin plug in the 24pin socket, but doesnt mention anything other then a 8pin for the 8pin connector.

So, should I use a 20pin to 24pin adapter for the main feed? Does it even make a difference? What about the 8pin socket? As you can see in the overall photo of the mobo, half of the 8pin socket is covered - but it does not mention using a 4pin plug in this socket anywhere in the manual. Is there an adapter I need? If so which one?

The last thing I want to do is fry something because I hooked it up incorrectly.
Thanks guys.

My guess is that you can use the 4pin CPU power connector in that socket. Especially since there are alot of powersupplies out now that dont have that 8pin connector. I may be wrong other members please chime in.

Yeah, thats kinda what I'm guessing too. I havent put together a pc in awhile, so I'm not sure on what the standard is for the new mobo/power supplies.
