Using Alumnium Macbook Pro Charger with new Unibody Macbook Pro?

Just got a new Unibody Macbook Pro.. it was a replacement from Applecare (or else I would've waited for the newer refresh which is bound to happen soon) and I'm curious to know if it will harm the battery if I use the charger from the older Aluminum series with this new Unibody?

Thanks!

They didn't send you a new charger with it?? But, as stu said, it's fine. Or did you just mean as having an extra adapter around?

Just having an extra around. It's kinda nice having two. 🙂

Thanks for the info.. figured as much, but wanted to make sure.

Yea.. heh...

I picked up this Macbook Pro from this guy on the side of the street.. he had about thirty of them and none of 'em had any power adapters.. strange.. 😉

Is everything the same between the aluminum mbp chargers and the white macbook chargers, the generation right before the unibodies for both of them? I used to not be able to get my MBP to charge using my mom's charger if I was gaming on my computer. It would just say "not charging". Any ideas why?

the MacBook Air uses a 45W power adapter, the MacBook uses a 60W power adapter, and the MacBook Pro (15" with 9600 and up, as well as all previous MacBook Pros) uses an 85W power adapter.

It is the same connector, just a different amount of power. I have used my old MacBook adapter on Tyranicus' MacBook Pro, and vice versa, so not sure what is up with your situation.
