using A64 cooler on C2D

I have an arctic cooling freezer 64 cooler that I would like to reuse, however I am going to go the C2D route instead of sticking with 939/AM2.

the coolers look similar (the intel and amd versions) on AC's website, however the mounting mechanism is very different.

now my question is about the 4 mounting holes around the CPU socket.

is it possible to use the A64 backplate/mounting bracket on an intel board? i would imagine that those 4 holes are very similar, and that they have been around for a long time, since i remember using those holes to mount my alpha heatsink from back in the P4 days.

anyone have any success with this before?
