Using a wired router only as a switch (or changing router IP)

Currently, I have a D-Link 704P router. Unfoutunately, we need to cancel the cable internet service, and we'll probably be on dial-up for a while.

I want to enable ICS to allow two computers to go online simultaneously. But to do so requires the host PC to take on IP 192.168.0.1, which is taken by the router (attempting to enable ICS leads to a network IP conflict dialogue bubble).

Can I either change my router's IP to 192.168.0.2 or something like that or use it as just a switch? I don't really want to get my hub out for ICS because the DI-704P has a print server which I find very useful.

You can change the Router?s IP (make sure that you put a sticker in the back with the new IP).

Disable the Router?s DHCP, and it will work like a switch (Do not use the WAN port).
