Using a typical PC monitor in a car

I wanna use a typical 20in monitor in my car, I just wanna hook up my laptop to it. I just need a bracket. Its for my wife minivan. Anyone heard of this or know where to get one?

The panel will not last long because it is not designed for that environment. Cars cabin temperatures get near temperatures to cook. Any computer monitor will be damaged because they are designed to operate in an area with a temperature not any higher than 95 degrees F, so it will not be feasible if you can find monitor mount.

If you insist, use a wall mount or desk mount type of monitor mount that can withstand the weight. You will have to do some modifying of the car.

i know this, I want a bracket that will fold up, not a stand, i dont want to use the stand.

Did I say a stand. No I did not. Re-read my post. You will have to modify a desk or wall mount to do want you want. If modifying a desk or wall mount is not working, you can try a more custom mount using the parts at the following site.

If you want it to come from the roof and flip down there should be plenty of available mounts.

Go somewhere where they do car installations, ask them about what you are thinking and you should get some good ideas. They can at least point you towards the correct products and you can either buy them, or find them online, for most likely less money

if you're looking for a flip down this might work but I have no experience with this product.

Electroju, you got some snark going on. People put all kinds of things into cars, including many types of electronics, that SHOULD never be there. Obviously with varying levels of success, but to outright say that it wont work because it's not rated for the environment is presumptuous at best.

Somehow I've had large LCDs in my cars for years and they haven't melted into pools of plastic and metal. 🙄

It will work fine. For christ sake there is a guy in my area that has a tv in each one of his monte carlo doors that face outwards. Its a older aroun 85 monte and the tv's have to be at least 24 inches.
