What kind of editing? Like just simple cutting scenes together or adding effects and music?

There are S-video -> RCA converters- often, they come with the video card. Also for output, you'll need a cable with an 1/8" jack on one end and an RCA male on the the other end (2 if its stereo)- thi sassuming you are going from your computer's sound card to a VCR.

For video editing, www.vcdhelp.com is a great resource- they list free software and have tutorials

so let me get this straight

you plug the camcorder or VCR into the Video In on the video card and the audio goes in the Audio In on the sound card

you use Adobe Premiere to capture the video from the camcorder/VCR to the computer.

With Premiere (or another video program) you can edit the video, like cutting scenes together, adding text, etc.

When you're done editing the video you output it (using the Video Out on your video card, audio out on your sound card) to the VCR (assuming the camcorder doesn't have video/audio in) and just record the finish product to a regular VCR tape.

Is this correct or am I missing something?

Im prolly just gonna burn it then play it on a laptop using a projector instead of going back to vhs tape.
