Using a switch for xbox, pings not low enough in dorms, have another port in the wall, anyway to use both ports?

Hi, my campus is slow this year for xbox connect so I want to use both the ports in my room to lower my ping (if thats possible). I have my computer hooked to a switch, xbox on that switch, and then the switch to the wall. Now plugging the extra port from the wall into the switch will not speed anything up, right? Could I plug my computer into the wall using another ethernet card to speed up my computer at least? Or is there any other way to lower my ping? Thanks!

I don't see how plugging into another port would lower your ping time. The network latency would still be the same. You might get faster downloads using both but I doubt it would be worth the hassle of getting a router that handles two WAN connections.

I think your SOL.

actually just plugging the other connection into the switch woudl induce more traffic (assuming there is only 1 uplink on the switch).

most likely your conneciton is slow because of the campus network and goign though the second port isnt really going to help you.

especially since the two ports problably go into a swithc right on yoru dorm floor(they arent going to differ much in speed potential)
