Can anyone tell me what the difference is, if any, between standard Intel CPUs and those that get supplied by HP which are manufactured by Intel.

It doesnt make sense to me that Intel are creating separate versions of the Pentium to run in a Hewlett Packard Server.

Is there any reason to pay double for the same processor?

Thanks

There should not be any difference....unless it's a XEON processor....then you will be charged more.
