hi everyone. My buddy and I are going on the road, and we would just like to know if it's possible for us to connect our Laptops together using a router (netgear router, not wireless). We would like to play Warcraft 3 together, (we both have cd's), and since I have a router and we both have cables that we usually use to connect them to our respective cable modems, would it be possible to use a router to do this? Most internet sites don't say anything about using a router to do this, but instead they all mention usage of a hub. We don't plan to go out and purchase a hub, so we were wondering if a router would do the job just as fine. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's fine.

If you really want to be assured, why don't you try connecting your computers to teh router and pulling the plug on the Internet? If it works, it'll work on the road.

::Drools:: i can just imagine playing WC3 at 80 miles an hour while barreling down the I-5. Muahahaha. Muahaha! muahaha! okay sorry.

Just to make sure: You have to have the router plugged in to a power source for it to work.
